James 03:13
Biking down a mountain road James says that she was the one But his head’s already turned By the bright light shining all of the damn time And all I do is roll my eyes He says he’s only quiet on the outside But he’ll pick up his guitar to no end And we just sit here laughing Watching as he plays his stupid games It must be so hard to be James Are we supposed to buy that? Are we supposed to buy that? Cause we’re not having it at all Leather jacket, stupid hair But no one’s ever quite up to scratch Well you know what they say Glass houses aren’t just mirrors and you Shouldn’t throw stones just for the attention He says he’s only quiet on the outside But he’ll pick up his guitar to no end And we just sit here laughing Watching as he plays his stupid games It must be so hard to be James Are we supposed to buy that? Are we supposed to buy that? Cause we’re not having it at all

Hey, Fever! 02:46
They put the same ingredients in budget medication So you can deal with the old wood that’s causing irritation Swallow one tablet a day, as well as your pride Most people want to stay indoors in June Most people surveyed wouldn’t want to go to the moon I want to freak out and I want to rebel But if you make me do anything then you can go to hell Swallow one tablet a day, as well as your pride If there was a contest to be myself I think I’d come in second place If there was a contest to be myself I suppose you‘d want more introspection

Images of envy make you twist and scream A dystopian nightmare that never ends So if I may I do suggest that we Make a little den Play by the garage Just don’t be average Whatever happened to that kid? He was always laughing, always laughing His upper lip then became so stiff He made his joke, then another joke Until it all went up in smoke Did I remember right? And am I going mad Or is madness going me? All that I know is that I’m sick of my own bed And I’m tired of being in my own head I get a new high score I think I’ll drink some more Whatever happened to that kid? He was always laughing, always laughing His upper lip then became so stiff He made his joke, and another joke, and another joke What ever happened to that kid? (And another joke, and another joke) What ever happened to that kid? (And another joke, and another joke) What ever happened to that kid? (And another joke, and another joke) What ever happened to that kid? (And another joke) Until it all went up in smoke

Mantiques 01:42
You can’t put a yellow lining on your fit-for-work papers And you can’t put a nice green ribbon on the cuts that stressed the waiting lists But you don’t care do you? You claim that you’re the big man but you’re angered by a teenage girl How’d you get so fragile? “Debate me, debate me Why won’t you debate me?” Why would I give you the time of day? As if you’re Kant or Berkeley Plastered insecurities Across your accusations Then you’ll play the victim And run from the fight But you don’t care do you? Take the bully out the man and let’s be frank, it is a man Why‘d you get so fragile? (Come on) G-A-L-A-X-Y, B-R-A-I-N G-A-L-A-X-Y, B-R-A-I-N

About Time 04:02
Who would’ve thought it’d be this hard? To change our course after 50 years And are we ready to abandon ship? Or should we drink champagne in the first-class lounge? But I guess that’s what you get When the weak suffer what they must And the strong must do their worst They won’t stop taking And they won’t stop taking No they won’t stop taking when the clock stops ticking They don’t stop taking And they won’t stop taking No they won’t stop taking 'til the clock stops ticking It’s the end of the world and we know it But when it all goes down just keep in mind That your kids will bear the burden, not theirs While baboons mess up their blonde hair And as the stocks take another hit, they’ve already hit their target Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack’s gonna do jack shit And I guess that’s what you get When the weak suffer what they must And the strong must do their worst They won’t stop taking And they won’t stop taking No they won’t stop taking when the clock stops ticking They don’t stop taking And they won’t stop taking No they won’t stop taking 'til the clock stops ticking They don’t stop taking And they won’t stop taking No they won’t stop taking when the clock stops ticking They don’t stop taking And they won’t stop taking No they won’t stop taking 'til the clock stops ticking Turkeys are never going to vote for Christmas Unless you debate them in the marketplace of ideas Turkeys are never going to vote for Christmas Unless you debate them in the marketplace of ideas The marketplace of ideas will not be defeated Unless you debate them in the marketplace of ideas The marketplace of ideas will not be defeated Unless, unless, unless

Pangur Bán 03:05
You and I are like the monk and his cat You hunt your books; I’ll hunt my mouse And how happy we are Alone together Waiting for a fuller life But we didn’t know that It could be right here Against the wall I set my eye Full and fierce and sharp and sly Bear no ill will and ply your skill And how happy we are How happy we are Alone together Turning darkness into light I thought nothing’s perfect But it definitely is You and I are like the monk and his cat You and I are like the monk and his cat Here is the place we made a home The scholars and the cat Here is the place we made a home The scholars and the cat I fucking love how cute we are

Violet Crown 02:40
There’s a therapist who lives at the end of my street But I can’t see him because there’s an 18-week waiting period Yes I can see the irony but for once it isn’t appreciated Because all I can hear is a ticking clock And it’s not time to go home just yet Go to the river Go to the show Let it all go (Violet Crown) They say you shouldn’t place your happiness thinking The grass is greener on the other side But I can feel the ground shifting beneath me As I try to find some clarity Sometimes I feel like a familiar Hanging around but not really here But everyone seems to nod and smile When maybe we should get lost Go to the river Go to the show Let it all go Go to the river (Violet Crown) Go to the show Let it all go (Violet Crown) Occasionally an odd thought comes to me I want to get a giant laser beam And blast everyone else into oblivion Or something equally absurd It’s a twisted sense of romance Or whatever you want to call it (The drawing-rooms of one of the most magnificent private residences are ablaze of lights, Carriages line the streets in front, And from gate to doorway is spread a velvet carpet, on which the delicate feet of the guests may tread, The occasion is the entrée into society of one of the fairest buds in the City of the Violet Crown) Go to the river Go to the show (Violet Crown) Go to the river Go to the show (Violet Crown) Let it all go (Violet Crown)

Whatever happened to that kid? He was always laughing, always laughing His upper lip became so stiff It’s hard, it’s hard It’s so fucking hard To do what should come naturally But you’re not the only one Who has to deal with this shit Has to deal with his shit It’s okay to cry alone Cause you don’t want them to see you It’s okay to cry alone But know it’s okay not to be okay Whatever happened to that kid? What will happen to that kid? We won't know what could have happened Without your selfish actions Did you do your best? Was it worth the sentence that you condemned yourself to? Why did you do it to yourself? Is anything worth paying that kind of price for? Did you do your best? So tell me, why did it all go up in smoke? Why did it all go up in smoke? And now it’s harder to be loved It’s harder finding loyalty When you feel all by yourself And I wish I were an open book I wish that we could talk I wish I could have saved you But I guess I’ll save myself

about

Demonstration is about the important things in life, like love, loss, complaining about the impending climate disaster, mocking toxic masculinity, taking hayfever tablets, having a cat named after a 9th century Irish monk, and hating on fictional characters from cult 90s TV shows. It is fun! It is sad. It is lofi indie fuzz. It is 25 minutes long. It is out on Spotify and Apple music and other platforms on March 8, 2021.
